Important Varsity Football Game Safety Update
Berwick Area School District is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all students, athletes, staff, and spectators.
Beginning this football season, metal detectors will be used at all varsity football games as an additional safety measure. Metal detectors will be located at all three stadium entrances.
Please be aware of the following procedures:
• All three entrances will remain open until halftime.
• At halftime, only Mulberry Street and Vine Street entrances will remain open for entrance or re-entrance.
• Spectators who leave the stadium at halftime and wish to return will need to pay re-entrance fee, except for season ticket holders.
• All spectators entering or re-entering the stadium should plan for additional safety measures and follow the directions of event staff.
• No weapons or look alike of any kind will be permitted.
• Other items that may set the Open Gate Metal Detectors off are, but are not limited to, umbrellas, eyeglass cases, large metal cups, and portable chargers. You will be able to hand your umbrella and/or eyeglass case to a staff member prior to walking through the Open Gate System. The other items we recommend you leave at home or in your car.
We appreciate your patience, cooperation and understanding as we implement these safety measures. These procedures are intended to help make everyone’s experience as safe as possible.
Thank you for helping us keep our students, athletes, staff and community safe.
