MITCHELL MARTIN COMMITS TO ECU

GREENVILLE, NC – Berwick Area High School track and field and cross country standout Mitchell Martin has committed to attend East Carolina University this fall. Martin will compete in cross country, and both indoor and outdoor track and field for the Pirates.

Martin recently broke the school record in the 3,200 meter run at the 92nd annual Jack Reddick Invitational on the campus of Shippensburg University with a time of 9:46.76. His time eclipsed the old mark of 9:47.10, set by Jamie DeFinnis 27 years ago.

Martin becomes the second Bulldog athlete, joining fellow record-setting track and field athlete Payden Montana, to sign a full Division I scholarship for the upcoming year.

The East Carolina Pirates compete in the American Athletic Conference.
