MENSINGER NAMED TO ALL-STATE TEAM/WILL ATTEND KING’S

Mensinger signing WILKES BARRE, PA. – Berwick Area High School Girls’ Basketball standout Reese Mensinger was recently named to the Pennsylvania Class 4A Third team All-State squad. Mensinger has also been named to the Wyoming Valley Conference 1st All Star Team two times and was the Most Valuable Player in the conference this year.

Mensinger led the Lady Bulldogs to the PIAA Class 4A tournament in each of the last two seasons. Berwick placed second in District 2 to Nanticoke in 2016-2017 and placed third this year. The 2016-17 team advanced to the “Sweet 16” of the state tournament with a win over Jersey Shore on a last second shot by Tori Talanca, who currently plays for Lycoming College in Williamsport.

Mensinger averaged 21.8 points per game this year and was the leading scorer in the WVC. She made 55 three-point field goals and made more than 85% of her free throws. She also led the Lady Bulldogs in assists. Berwick Coach Bill Phillips credited Mensinger with being a great leader and competitor throughout her career.

Reese Mensinger will continue her academic and athletic career at King’s College in Wilkes Barre. King’s is an NCAA Division III school.
