BLOOMSBURG – Berwick Area High School Softball standout Sammi Starr has signed a letter of intent to attend Bloomsburg University next fall. Starr has been the starting shortstop at Berwick since her freshman year and was selected to the Wyoming Valley Conference All-Conference first team as a junior.
Starr had a .485 average in 2017 with 9 doubles, 2 triples and 4 home runs. She led Coach Emily Johnson’s Bulldogs with 26 runs scored. The Huskies are a perennial national power in NCAA Division II Women’s Softball. Bloomsburg competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
