Hello! My name is Ariel Harro. I am a K-12 Reading Specialist and will be working in Title I at Salem Elementary for the 2021-2022 school year. Please contact me via email with any questions, at email@example.com.
I am a 2013 graduate of Berwick Area High School. I began my college career at Luzerne County Community College, where I earned an A.A.S. in Early Childhood Education and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2015. From there, I transferred to Bloomsburg University to complete my coursework in Early Childhood Education. I earned a B.S.Ed. with PreK-4 Certification, and a Minor in Music. I was the Top Honor Graduate from the College of Education, in December 2017.
After graduation, I served as a long-term substitute in Middle School Music/Chorus and Kindergarten in the Central Columbia School District. I was also a long-term substitute (Kindergarten) in the Line Mountain School District. I began working in the Berwick Area School District in 2019, in Title I. I gained deep knowledge and skill in effective reading instruction and assessment. Finally, I was hired full-time in the 2020-2021 school year. I taught K-1 ELA in Berwick's cyber program, as well as Kindergarten at Salem Elementary. I have just earned my K-12 Reading Specialist certification, and will graduate with a Master of Education in Reading from Bloomsburg University this December.
I love going to the beach with my family during the summer, and I have a cat named Nittany. I am also a professional piano accompanist - You may have seen me at Berwick High School's recent productions of Beauty and the Beast and The Addams Family!
Please see my Google Site for specific information on my classes! This site reflects what I used in the cyber program, but the resources are great for Title I students as well. Thank you!
