ContentDean of Students - Tara Scholla

  • Hello!

My name is Tara Scholla. I am entering my third year as a Health and Physical Education Teacher and first year as Dean of Students and Assistant Athletic Director. I am eager to begin these new positions and I look forward to working with your children in an academic setting as well as in the athletic setting.

I am the youngest of three children; I have an older brother and an older sister. I grew up in a small town in Western New York called Angelica. My parents still reside there; my sister lives in Rochester, NY and my brother and sister-in-law live in Houston, TX.

Throughout high school, I was very active in sports (soccer, basketball, and softball) and various extracurricular clubs. After high school, I attended college to pursue a Bachelor’s of Science in Education while continuing my soccer career. After graduating from Lock Haven University in 2015 with a teaching certificate in K-12 Health and Physical Education, I moved back home and worked as a Sports and Aquatics Director at a local YMCA. In June 2016, I was hired as a Secondary Health and Physical Education Teacher at Berwick. I relocated here that summer and now live in Nescopeck.

Currently, I am the Girls’ Varsity Soccer Assistant Coach and a volunteer for Junior High Track and Field. I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Delaware Valley University, which I will complete in spring 2019. I hope to continue my career at Berwick Area School District, and my long-term goal is becoming an Athletic Director.
