    Ms. Parulis is in her 8th year serving as an Elementary School Counselor in the Berwick Area School District.

    Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from King’s College and a Master of Science degree in Elementary School Counseling from the University of Scranton. Certifications include Educational Specialist II and National Board Certified Counselor.
    In addition to working in the Berwick Area School District, Ms. Parulis worked as a long-term substitute Elementary School Counselor in the Wyoming Valley West School District.
    Prior to beginning her career as a School Counselor, Ms. Parulis worked in the Mental Health field for approximately ten years. She began her career working at a local inpatient psychiatric facility where she assisted in the daily treatment of children, adolescents, and adults.
    Ms. Parulis also served in several capacities at the Luzerne Intermediate Unit 18 between 2007 - 2013 working with children with behavioral-emotional needs.  She worked in various local school districts as a Therapeutic Staff Support worker, Mobile Therapist and Behavior Specialist. Ms. Parulis assisted in the development and implementation of the Summer Therapeutic Activities Program and was a Mental Health Treatment Specialist at a High School-Based Partial Hospitalization program.
    Ms. Parulis is a trained facilitator for the Strengthening Families Program and Safe Crisis Management. She also has her Student Assistance Program certification.
