• Mr. Christopher Rivera

    Principal, Nescopeck Elementary School
    Director of Federal Programs 


    This is Mr. Rivera's sixth year in the Berwick Area School District. Previously he was the Principal of the Fourteenth Street Elementary School, and Berwick Area Middle School.  Mr. Rivera graduated from Delaware Valley High School and then went on to Bucknell University, where he earned a B.S. in Elementary Education.  He also earned a Master’s Degree in Classroom technology and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University.

    When Mr. Rivera was a teacher, he taught 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students in the areas of Math, Science, and Writing. Mr. Rivera is originally from New Jersey, but has spent much of his life in Northeast and Central Pennsylvania. 

    When he is not at school, Mr. Rivera enjoys camping, backpacking, photography, fishing, kayaking, and traveling to unusual places.  He also enjoys spending time with his wife Lauren, and his sons Kelten and Hayden.

    Mr. Rivera has a slogan that he says often: “Be Here, Be Respectful, and Do Your Best.”   Anyone who follows those three simple rules is sure to have success at Nescopeck Elementary School.
