On Monday, December 22, 2014 Orange Street Elementary School students will present a Christmas program for parents and grandparents. There will be two identical presentations, one at 9:00 AM and one at 1:10 PM. We are asking families with last names beginning with A through M to come at 9:00 AM and families with last names from N through Z to come at 1:10 PM. If you cannot attend the scheduled time please come to the other presentation. We are trying to split the crowd so everyone can enjoy the program. This is a great way to start your holiday celebration.
Orange Street Elementary is now in the third year of the The Leader In Meprogram implementation. This program introduces students to personal leadership habits and skills. All students have the capacity to lead in their own lives and affect those around them by making positive choices. Students have taken on responsibility for presenting monthly assemblies highlighting each topic.
The habits we will be learning this school year include:
1. Be Proactive
2. Begin with the End in Mind
3. Put First Things First
4. Think Win-Win
5. Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood
Orange Street Elementary School strives to provide valuable learning opportunities, in a community of acceptance, where each student is inspired to grow in meeting high academic standards, leading ethical lives, and demonstrating responsible citizenship.
We believe: 1. Every child can learn. 2. Every child has the right to a safe and secure learning environment that is conducive to learning. 3. Every child is unique and deserves respect. 4. Every child can make responsible and respectful choices. 5. The school environment must foster self-worth and a cooperative environment between students, teachers, family and community. 6. All students deserve proper nurturing and guidance allowing them to develop into successful, happy and productive citizens. 7. The school faculty must hold high academic expectations for all students in order to prepare them for success in life.
