Mrs. Wendy Hart
Secretary to Director of Curriculum K-12
Mrs. Hart graduated from Berwick High School in 1993 after completing work through the Cooperative Education program. She was hired in 1993 as a full-time employee in the personnel department at the Berwick Area School District Administrative Office.
Mrs. Hart was recently appointed Secretary to the Director of Curriculum K-12. Some of her responsibilities in this capacity include various duties in Homebound Instruction, Home Schooling, Classroom Plus and Act 48. She also assists in tracking personnel certification as well as curriculum development. |

Ms. Melissa DeFinnis
Accounts Payable Director
Ms. DeFinnis graduated from Berwick Area High School in 1996. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at Susquehanna University in 2000, then pursued a Masters degree in Instructional Technology at Bloomsburg University.
Ms. DeFinnis' employment at the Berwick Area School District began in 2000 when she was hired as an aide in the childcare lab. She was recently hired as the Accounts Payable clerk. Some of her responsibilities include processing payment of all invoices for the district, making book keeping entries in various accounts, and maintaining up to date files for all invoices. |

Ms. Adele Jordan
Receptionist
Ms. Jordan graduated from Berwick High School in 1974. She was hired in August, 1977, as a full-time employee in the food services office at the Berwick High School. In 1978 she transferred to the Berwick Area School District Administrative Office at Market Street.
Ms. Jordan had been working in the curriculum department upon arriving at the Line Street Building. Ms. Jordan was recently appointed as the Receptionist of the Berwick Area School District Administrative Office at Line Street where she has various duties.

Mrs. Georgene Ferguson
Special Education Secretary
Mrs. Ferguson graduated from Berwick High School in 1971. She was hired by the Berwick Area School District in November 1985 as a one-on-one aide to a student at Berwick Junior High School. In April 1986 she assumed the position of Guidance Secretary Aide at the Junior High School and later was hired as the full-time Guidance Secretary. In November 1993 Mrs. Ferguson was appointed Special Education Secretary and transferred to the Administrative Office.
Mrs. Ferguson is the contact person for the Special Education Office and maintains schedules for the Director of Special Education, School Psychologist, Psychometrist and the Special Education Family/Child Specialist, as well as performing various other duties within the Special Education Department. |

Mrs. Sandra Kershner
Secretary to the Business Manager
Mrs. Kershner was hired in September, 2004 as Secretary to Business Manager, Mrs. Christina Martz. Previously she worked at Geisinger for ten years.
Some of her duties include entering purchase orders, reconciling bank statements and receiving monies for the school district, and preparing the bank deposits.

Mrs. Heather Bartholomew
Family and Child Specialist
Mrs. Bartholomew graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1992 and Bloomsburg University in 1996 with a degree in Elementary Education. She was hired in 2002 as a full-time employee in the Special Education Department as a Special Education Family/Child Specialist.
Mrs. Bartholomew currently works with students involved in special education classes at the Middle and High School. Some of her responsibilities include working with students on a one to one basis, getting students and families involved with area agencies, and communicating with area agencies. |

Mrs. Trish Malia Miller
Psychometrist
Mrs. Malia Miller graduated from Franklin High School in N.J. in 1975, and then attended Syracuse University. Years later when her 3 children were in high school, she attended Bloomsburg University earning her degree in psychology. Following this she pursued her Masters in Education at Bucknell University, with specialization in School Psychology. Mrs. Miller began in this district in 1996 while doing her internship, then soon thereafter was hired to assist Mr. Cole, the previous psychologist. Her duties and caseload have increased yearly and she currently works in tandem with Mrs. Roppelt, school psychologist. Her responsibilities include all psychologist duties.

Mrs. Diane Bomboy
ACCESS Coordinator
Mrs. Bomboy graduated from BHS in 1976. She was hired in 1994 as a part-time employee in the Special Education Department at the Berwick Area School District Administrative Office. In 1995 she was appointed full-time Access Coordinator for the district.

Mrs. Donna Mazzitti
Secretary to the Superintendent
Mrs. Mazzitti has been employed by the District since graduating from Berwick High School. She started with the District in 1973 as Secretary to the Business Manager. In July of 1987 she assumed the position of Accounts Payable Clerk and in August of 1990 was appointed to the position of Secretary to the Superintendent.
In addition, she serves as Secretary to the Berwick Area School Board since 1980. Donna was selected as the PSBA Secretary of the Year for 2006 by the Pennsylvania School Board Association. |
